AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance providers, joins women all over the world for Women’s Month, a global celebration highlighting the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This year’s theme, #BreakTheBias, aims to forge women’s equality and create a gender-equal world.
In line with its commitment to reinforce gender equality and help drive diversity and inclusion, AXA kicked off a region-wide campaign with a series of events and initiatives celebrating women’s successes and raising awareness about equality for women.
With AXA’s 10 years of leadership commitment to women’s advancement, its senior leaders across the globe implemented a speed mentoring initiative to bring together leaders and employees to network, gain different perspectives, and inspire more drive to succeed. This also served as an opportunity for AXA leaders and employees to break any existing bias and foster inclusion in the workplace.
As a brand that also supports women in sports, AXA recently struck a partnership with 20-year-old Filipino-Japanese professional golfer and 2021 US Women’s Open winner Yuka Saso. AXA believes Saso is an embodiment of the brand’s “Know You Can” message, which is rooted in the understanding that confidence is essential for people to successfully achieve their goals.
For International Women’s Day last March 8, 2022, AXA, with the support of Yuka Saso as well, also encouraged everyone to upload an image doing the symbolic #BreakTheBias pose and publish it on their social media accounts with the hashtags #YukaSasoforSavetheChildrenPH and #BreakTheBiasWithAXA, in support of AXA’s commitment to embracing equity and inclusion.
“Bias will never go away, and we will never be able to control what others think and say about us, but we can always control how we treat others and how we respond when faced with judgment. I hope I can encourage young kids to run after their dreams, regardless of who they are or where they came from. Anything is possible,” shared Saso.
AXA Asia and Africa donated US$10 for every social media post and up to a maximum of US$5,000 to Save the Children in the Philippines in support of their programs for women. Save the Children, the world’s leading independent children’s organization, has been working in the Philippines for over four decades and is dedicated to helping children.
Moreover, AXA Philippines supports organizations that empower women such as She Talks Asia, an online community and impact agency that amplifies messages of empowerment, diversity, and inclusion. AXA extends their partnership with She Talks Asia in a summit titled, “Feel Seen,” on March 26, 2022. This year’s summit highlights the value of embracing one’s self-worth and achieving one’s full potential in order to create the change we want to see in the world. 100% of the event proceeds will go also to sponsoring its scholarship fund for girls.
Even beyond Women’s Month, AXA continues to support gender equality helping empower women to continue to defy stereotypes and #BreakTheBias.
